“Love is the unconditional choice to sacrificially serve another person.”
How many people do you say “I love you” to. Not “ily” or “I luhhhh you” or any other whack spellings.
How many people do you say that to? Your friends, your girlfriend/boyfriend, the kids you hang with at lunch, the people at your job, your parents, your relatives, and that super hot celebrity or band. The list goes on and on and on and on and on and…Well, I think you get the point. “I love you” is tossed around these days, associated with, basically, favoritism. Now, I’m not saying that the affection you show for these people is wrong, because it’s not. Love comes naturally to a human being, especially with those who we are close to.
But what about the people we’re not close to? The people we can’t stand to be around? The people we wish would just fall off the face of the earth? Why don’t we love them?
Well, because they don’t like me, they don’t like the same stuff as me, they did this and that and this and that. They did something against me, my friends, my family.
Well, love isn’t about you… Or how YOU feel, or don’t feel. It’s not what it's meant to be. Love is not about your feelings. Its sacrificial, remember?
So, I ask you again, how many people do you say “I love you” to?
But here’s the kicker, how many people do you say it to, and MEAN IT?
